I’m Charissa, a second-year Biology student at Oxford University, where I’m thoroughly enjoying my course, specialising in cellular and developmental biology. My passion for biology and my love for teaching drive my tutoring approach, which focuses on building students' confidence by addressing their unique needs. I’m dedicated to helping students master challenging concepts and develop effective study habits, empowering them to achieve their academic goals.
Before starting university, I took a gap year and gained valuable experience working in a school, where I tutored A-level students in Maths. For the past three years, I’ve also tutored GCSE Maths and Science both privately and at an education center, tailoring sessions to meet each student’s individual learning style. I received three A*’s in A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and earned all grade 9s at GCSE. I attribute my academic success to my strong organisational skills and enthusiasm for learning, qualities I aim to pass on to my students.
One of my tutoring highlights has been guiding a student through their A-levels and personal statement, helping them secure a place at Oxford. Witnessing my students' growth and achievements is incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to supporting more students as they thrive academically and build their confidence.
