Hi, I’m Amelie!
I’m currently a Biology undergraduate at New College in the University of Oxford π§¬
I have previous experience tutoring both maths and chemistry at GCSE & A level standards - successfully supporting students in reaching their academic goals. π
At GCSE level, I’m able to tutor all sciences and mathematics with any exam board. In addition, I could assist with English, history, geography and economics, however, as some exam boards differ in case study/book content, this would potentially be more skill based initially. π
At A level, I can tutor in maths, chemistry, biology and geography. Again with geography, case study content may differ, but required skills are consistent across exam boards. β¨
I can also help younger students with 11+ exams if these are relevant in your area. π
I take a supportive and positive approach to tutoring as in my experience, students learn a great deal more when they feel safe to test out new ideas and make mistakes. πΈ
I believe building rapport is crucial to students feeling comfortable in the sessions and as a younger tutor who has recently been through these exam stages I know how tough it can be to navigate the specification content and learn exam technique effectively. βοΈ
I tend to do practice/question based sessions rather than lecturing, as this way I know students are engaging with the content and I can give instant feedback to quash any misconceptions before they become habitual. However, I will always adapt my style to the subject and the needs of the student in question. πβοΈ
Overall, I’d describe myself as an adaptable, welcoming and supportive tutor, and I can’t wait to help everyone in their academic endeavours π
