Hi! My name is Jake and I am a first year engineering undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. I have always had a passion for maths and sciences, and love to share that with others around me. In particular, I am most passionate about aerospace and sustainability, and would love to work in motorsport or aviation in the future. As a tutor, it is my job to offer help and guidance around a subject area, but I hope that I can also foster a love of learning in a relaxed, informal environment. My previous experience includes tutoring both friends and family, ranging from primary school to A-Level. Outside of the engineering labs, I love playing sports (especially football) and am a keen pianist. I like to be flexible with tutoring, as there's no one approach that suits all. However, my one constant is that I always believe in a comprehensive appraisal of topics, often beyond the usual confines of mark schemes and specifications. In my opinion, stretching the student beyond their comfort zone will ultimately lead to a deeper understanding of the topic, rather than a collection of hastily-memorised bullet points.
